Insights: Community perspectives on effective funding practice

In 2023, CSI supported Foundation North’s three-yearly review of their strategy. The review aimed to identify progress, current community trends in Foundation North’s rohe, and implications for their strategy and practice.

Community engagement with the strategy review provided insights into which funding practices are most enabling and mana-enhancing for Foundation North’s priority communities. The report shares what effective practice looks like, in terms of: funding strategy and approaches; funding models and processes, and; how to enable systems change.

The below insight report is shared with the intention to inform the practice of other funders that are interested in how to enable the aspirations of communities across Aotearoa.
