The Kia Whiti Tonu (to shine brightly) programme were a series of free online workshops provide information and insights to support capability and capacity building in community organisations. Funded by Foundation North, they were developed initially in response to needs identified in 2020 in a COVID-19 impact survey carried out in collaboration between the Centre for Social Impact, Hui E! Community Aotearoa, Philanthropy New Zealand, and Volunteering New Zealand.

Professor Mason Durie developed Te Whare Tapa Wha, a holistic health and wellness model in 1982 to enable a wider audience a clearer and more informed understanding of a Māori point of view with regard to hauora and ora (health and wellbeing).

This workshop with Tuihana Ohia shows how to create a practical resource, a Whare of Hauora, Home of Wellbeing, with intention around the pou (pillars): Taha Tinana (physical health), Taha Wairua (the spiritual dimension), Taha Whānau (the family), Taha Hinengaro (the mind), and Whenua (land & environment).
