Funders and Climate Action in Aotearoa was the topic of our October 2022 Te Pūaha Talk.
This one hour webinar was one of the events on the programme for the Auckland Climate Festival which brought a diverse range of events and perspectives together to inform and accelerate climate action.
Our Funders and Climate Action in Aotearoa webinar introduced the Funders Commitment on Climate Action developed by the Community Trusts of Aotearoa. It addressed what climate action is all about and what funders can do to make a difference. Topics covered included the ‘Tika Transition’, a uniquely Aotearoa approach to a just transition developed by Victoria University Associate Professor Maria Bargh.
The webinar was presented by Linn Araboglos, Chief Executive of Wellington Community Fund, Aimee Kaio, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Regional Investment – Rūnanga Engagement Manager, and Devon Judd. Devon, who is currently studying at Te Herenga Waka, has been involved in the youth-led climate action group, Generation Zero.
